SUMMARY:Exhibition on Screen: James McNeill Whistler
DESCRIPTION:In an era of great change and great beauty emerged the character of James McNeill Whistler. Considered by some to be one of the great innovators of 19th century art\, he was a contemporary of the Impressionists\, much admired by Van Gogh and Manet. Boldly experimental and famously witty\, Whistler disrupted the strict conventions of Victorian society in pursuit of a new cult of beauty\, creating “art for art’s sake” and earning himself a place in the history of great art. He found a parallel between painting and music\, and entitled many of his paintings “arrangements”\, “harmonies” and “nocturnes”\, emphasizing the importance of tonal harmony in his work. \nHis most famous painting\, Arrangement in Grey and Black No. 1 (1871)\, commonly known as Whistler’s Mother\, is a revered and often parodied portrait of motherhood. It is arguably one of the most famous paintings in history and this film will unveil the artist behind the art. \nTate Britain is now holding the first major retrospective of Whistler in three decades. This blockbuster exhibition promises to reawaken the world to just how important Whistler is to art history\, uniting world-famous masterpieces with rarely seen works. Exhibition on Screen will bring these stunning works and the incredible story behind them to cinemas around the world while the exhibition is still running\, bringing this truly global artist to a global audience. This will be an unmissable chance to get to know this visually spectacular artist and the influence he has had on those who followed. \nMade in close collaboration with Tate Britain. \nDirected by David Bickerstaff\nRunning Time: 1 Hour 30 Mins (There is no interval for this screening) \nTicket Prices\nAdult: £15.00 | Concession: £14.00 | Member: £13.00 | Groups 12+: £13.00 \nPlease note: A restoration fund of £1.50 per ticket will be charged in addition to the ticket price\, to assist with the cost of ongoing maintenance. \nDate & Times\n Tuesday 15th September\, 5:00 PM \n BOOK NOW!

SUMMARY:The Real Manhunter Live!
DESCRIPTION:Following two hugely popular tours in 2024/2025\, Colin Sutton will once again head out to spend an evening with fans and true crime enthusiasts in 2026. In this brand new show\, he will talk in great detail about how policing has changed over the years\, exploring the ever-evolving aspect of science vs. investigation. With younger detectives never having known a world without forensic DNA\, what impact has that had on the way crimes are investigated? Is there a “best” way to carry out an investigation and what are the repercussions when one side fails? \nThis show will offer a unique insight into how teams of detectives look for evidence\, what they do with it\, and how the outcome of a trial doesn’t always match what is presented to a court of law. Colin will discuss specific cases and how investigations were taken in different directions depending on the evidence available. \n  \nAbout Colin Sutton \nColin Sutton is a former Metropolitan Police detective who came to public prominence by leading the investigation into several high-profile cases such as Levi Bellfield and ‘Night Stalker’ Delroy Grant. Following his retirement from the police force in 2011\, Sutton began to write about his experiences. His first book\, Manhunt (about the Levi Bellfield case) was released in 2019 to much critical acclaim and was followed up with a second book about the Delroy Grant case. The books went on to be the inspiration behind the TV series of the same name\, for which he served as a writer and was played by MarGn Clunes. The second series was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Drama Series \nIn 2020\, Colin teamed up with Revelation Films for ‘The Real Manhunter’\, an 8-part true crime documentary series which airs on Sky Crime. His on-screen warmth and willingness to offer insight into the real life of a top tear detective has gained him a huge following and he appears at Crime Con every year\, both in the UK and internationally\, where he draws some of the biggest audiences over the course of the event. Following the broadcast of the 4th series of the hit show\, Colin released his 3rd book\, The Real Manhunter Casebook. \n  \nTicket Prices \n\n\nSingle: £30.00 \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note: A restoration fund of £1.50 per ticket will be charged in addition to the ticket price\, to assist with the cost of ongoing maintenance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDates & Times \n Thursday 19th November\, 7:30 PM \n BOOK NOW!

SUMMARY:RBO: COSÌ FAN TUTTE - Encore
DESCRIPTION:Spurred on by a bet\, two young men hatch a plan to test the fidelity of their girlfriends. What follows is a slippery game of seduction and power\, the four lovers plunging into a dizzying world of shifting reality\, where truth becomes increasingly unstable. \nCosì fan tutte has lost none of its sting since it first scandalised audiences in 1790. In her Main Stage debut\, Netia Jones\, Associate Director of The Royal Opera\, reimagines Mozart’s comedy of manners through a sharp contemporary lens\, where 18th-century romantic trickery meets deeply satirical high-tech deceit. Taking on the roles of the lovers is an exciting young cast led by Louise Alder\, Simone McIntosh\, Mingjie Lei and Huw Montague Rendall\, with Gerald Finley as their manipulative game-master Don Alfonso and Emily Pogorelc as Despina. Thomas Hengelbrock conducts\, bringing out the exquisite melodies that underpin the provocative\, and resolutely modern\, themes at the heart of the opera. \nRunning Time: 3 Hours 30 Mins (This includes two interval)\nSung in Italian with English subtitles \n  \nTicket Prices\nAdult: £18.00 | Concession: £16.00 | Member: £14.00 | Groups 12+: £13.00 \nPlease note: A restoration fund of £1.50 per ticket will be charged in addition to the ticket price\, to assist with the cost of ongoing maintenance. \n  \n \nDate & Times\n Sunday 28th February 2027\, 2:00 PM \n BOOK NOW!

SUMMARY:RBO: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
DESCRIPTION:At a garden party on a sunny afternoon\, Alice is surprised to see her parents’ friend Lewis Carroll transform into a white rabbit. When she follows him down a rabbit hole\, events become curiouser and curiouser…As Alice journeys through Wonderland\, she encounters countless strange creatures. She’s swept off her feet by the charming Knave of Hearts\, who’s on the run for stealing the tarts. Confusion piles upon confusion. Then Alice wakes with a start. Was it all a daydream? \nChristopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland burst onto the stage in 2011 in an explosion of colour\, stage magic and inventive\, sophisticated choreography. Joby Talbot’s score combines contemporary soundworlds with sweeping melodies that gesture to ballet scores of the 19th century. Bob Crowley’s wildly imaginative\, eye-popping designs draw on everything from puppetry to projections to make Wonderland wonderfully real. The result shows The Royal Ballet at its best\, bringing together world-class dance with enchanting family entertainment and ingenious music and design. \nRunning Time: 2 Hours 50 Mins (This includes two interval) \nTicket Prices\nAdult: £18.00 | Concession: £16.00 | Member: £14.00 | Groups 12+: £13.00 \nPlease note: A restoration fund of £1.50 per ticket will be charged in addition to the ticket price\, to assist with the cost of ongoing maintenance. \n  \n \nDate & Times\n Tuesday 23rd March 2027\, 7:15 PM \n BOOK NOW!
